2019 Lorde

Today I was learning to write facts about Lorde  and only write things that I understand.

I enjoyed decorating my Google Drawing and writing the facts about Lorde.

I found it challenging to find the right picture for me to put on my Google Drawing.

My digital learning object shows that I can write Facts about people and use shapes and the colour pot.

Next time I would change the colour's and the picture of Lorde.

Where Have All The Fish Gone?

Today I was learning how to decided if the picture is real or fake.

I enjoyed talking to other people on what we would do.

I found it challenging to decided what I would do for my title.

MY Cross Country

For the  Cross Country we had to run up and down big hills. Over big bumps and creeks.   I  came 3rd place in the year fives.The people next to me are my friends.

2019 What Is Media

Today I was learning about media and what sort of media I use everyday.

I enjoyed making my object and removing the background from my picture.

I found it challenging to decided what I was go to do that is about media.

My digital learning object shows that I can use the Explore tool when ever I wont to find a picture.

Next time I would do something more interesting like the news paper or a picture of a Chromebook.

2019All Blaks

Today at school we are have a black out day to celebrate the Rugby World Cup.Here is what I look like.The All Blacks have already played South Africa and won. They are going to play Canada next.The All Blacks are playing in Pool B. My favourite player is Beauden Barrett. Who is your favourite?

2019 What's in Your Soil

Today I was learning to write a science procedure for What's In Your Soil.

I enjoyed collecting the soil to put in my jar.

I found it challenging to see how many layers there were.

Next time I would go to a different place to get my soil.

2019 Kon-Tiki

My reading group were reading a book called the Kon-Tiki. The Kon-Tiki sailed from Lima,Peru to the Polynesian Islands. Thor Heyadahl made the Kon-Tiki to prove that people in the past did make it to the Polynesian Islands from Peru so we decided to make our own.I think my Kon-Tiki would make it to the Polynesian Islands because it's quite stable.  

2019 Seeking Help

Today I was learning to use the line tool and connect my shapes together.

I enjoyed colouring my shapes and my background.

I found it challenging to find a picture to put in the frame in the corner.

Next time I would try to take a screenshot.

Today I was learning to use other things like shapes and the colour pot.

I enjoyed writing in the speech bobble and creating the back ground.

In my maths group we made a paper pyramid to see how many edges it had.

2019 Leaf Experiment

My reading group had to do a experiment with some leafs so want we did was we put a leaf in a jar and we observed the leaf really closely. Next we put all of our data all on to a table.

 In room 3 we were doing a science experiment with a daffodil to see where the water would go.So want we did was we put red food colouring in the water so we could see where the water went.

I enjoyed making the character. I also enjoyed commenting to my buddy when we made our character.

We are learning about historical events all around the world.
I really enjoyed it because we got to colour the background after we were don the writing.

I chose this book because the little blurb on the back sounded interesting so I decided to read it.Violet the person in the book she is so kind to other people.

Our reading group are studying history of Antarctica and Ernst Shackleton had a dream that he wanted to cross the whole of Antarctica.His men that he brought with him they played soccer on the frozen sea.

Today I was learning to write a poem.I was learning to use my imagination for my poem.

I enjoyed writing my poem.I also enjoyed screencastify.

I found it challenging to screencastify it even though I enjoyed it.

Multiplying a two digit number by 11.

1.Separate the two digits.

2.Add them together.

3.Put the sum between the two digits.

Does this always work? Check using a calculator.

Matawai Action Screen

Today I was learning to use the camera tool to take a photo of my self.Then we had to  use a neither tool to remove the background.Next we had to put our self's on to anther background.
 
I enjoyed making the background and putting my self on the background.Even though it was hard putting my self on their.I enjoyed taking the photo of me but is was also very hard because my arms got very sore.

I found it challenging to upload the photo on to the background. I also found it challenging to put the background on their as wall.taking the photo was very challenging as wall.

Yesterday we had a open day a school and our persistent came school and looked at our work.

2019 Beaut Ukes

Hi I'm Violet and I'm standing here with my ukulele around my neck getting read to play my ukulele for the audience.

Our ukulele group is called the Beaut Ukes. My favourite song that we sung was Do Your Ears Hang Low because it was the easiest song to play and to sing.

Kia ora my name is Violet. I have 3 siblings and I live with my mum and Step-dad. I am a year 5 at Matawai School.
My classroom name is room three. I want to get better at literacy. And my goal this year is to get better at doing my work faster.
My favourite art is mosaics. I made a mosaic octopus. My favourite thing to do is maths. My favourite maths game is Zilch. My favourite sport is Netball and Hockey.
